Israel Air Force war jets on Monday evening struck dozens of southern Gaza tunnels used by Hamas militants to smuggle weaponry into the strip from Egypt.
Channel Two reported on Monday evening that the total number of armed Palestinians killed in gunbattles with the IDF reached 100.
The IDF said that the targets hit overnight included a mosque used for storing weapons, an underground bunker in Gaza City stocked with explosives which set off secondary explosions, a number of Hamas-operated tunnels near Rafah in the southern Strip, a rocket launcher, four homes of militants, and a suspected anti-aircraft missile.
Cpl. Yosef Muadi, 19, from Haifa, Maj. Dagan Vertman, a 32-year-old doctor from Ma’aleh Michmash, and Staff Sergeant Nitai Stern, 21, from Jerusalem. They are from the Golani infantry brigade, died in a separate friendly fire incident Monday

Gaza militants fire 40 rockets into Israel on Monday
Still, over 40 Qassam and Grad rockets were fired Monday from Gaza at southern Israel striking Ashkelon, Ashdod, Sderot, Kiryat Malakhi, near Ofakim, Netivot and Be’er Sheva. Hamas also fired rockets at the area between Ashdod and Gedera. A number of people in Sderot were treated for shock, and in Ashdod a rocket nearly destroyed a kindergarten.
