איפה המוזיקה שלי?

May 9, 2010

Hello? How long have I *not* blogged about music? Heaven knows… There certainly are bookooo singles and albums trying to get on my most-impressive list. But sorry, I don’t know how many of you would be lucky enough to be mentioned here yet 😛

The first one surface in my mind is Glenn Morrison’s Symptoms Of A Stranger/ Triangle & Strings. I always like the simple and clean voice of Cathy Burton. But the too much resplendent Triangle and Strings has taken me all over. It sets off with an array of morning clock sounds, and rapidly expands to multi-dimensional spaces with the following strings and synths. They travel between your ears probably a thousand times per second as if it formed a standing wave. This is again what I often say “the holiness of music”. It’s without love or hate, happiness or sorrow. It’s macrolevel, as equivalent to what we feel about math.

Another single I enthusiastically tweeted in #MusicMonday is Dashka- Cantabile. I don’t know him/her. But the innovative work pushes me to google him someday (I will). The beginning bass approaches and takes me to an underground world. It sounds like a ghost story, especially when in breakdown, where piano gradually fades in and introduces a full blast of orchestra. After a deliberate absence of all sounds, the violin riff goes forth with the beat, like the madness of all kinds of ghosts around the globe at a revelry! What a classic piece. And the snowy cover, too.

Don’t know why I just can’t get Antidote out of my head. Isn’t anything I normally like I guess. But I just like it to go on and on. A drum, a hat, a bass, and several countable synths. Simple, basic as a techno track would be. Afterwards I found it so much resembles the last minute in Rui Da Silva- Touch Me. This is an really old track found on In Search of Sunrise 2-_-. (The reason why I still remember this is going to unfold another story.) Well indeed, when I put the two together and listen to them one by one I discover Antidote is almost the same with the last part of Touch Me. I guess this proves that all that’s good has already existed from the very beginning…

Well, unfortunately I’m not able to keep on as there’s the constant state of lack of time, lack of sleep etc… Although there’re still so much more I want to record here, gotta stop right away. To be continued next time.
